one night i was reading a goddess, and felt so drained after, nothing in my music library could set me right. thanks to itunes user 'share the love' though - i've since discovered The Flaming Lips. i don't know what genre exactly they are, it seems to me Alternative is a pretentious tag that the stupid slap on whatever they cannot categorise? educate me, someone!
well and so now i have a whole lot of new music for quiet nights (Of Montreal is also cool, i discover!), thanks to last.fm, which i've plugged before. that which streams music according to your preferences, and not as clunky as pandora.

i am going to cook for real, soon. i am queen - found bite/snack recipes that require neither baking, refrigeration nor weighing scales. i am queen!
on the menu: tsubu-an tucked in ricotta pancakes/crepes (depending on success) laced with maybe 65%? whee the trial run is tomorrow, so that disasters can be polished off during the Uniform party tuesday night, on which occasion i shall pretend i dressed my food as Homogeneous Gunk. (heehee)
and then to redo everything thursday morning for real to welcome my sister and her appendage! whoop, a lil something for everybody - cheese for my sister, chocolate for her guy and azuki for me!! ah. in the mood for japanese i am it seems.

lots of mail didn't come in this week, so the hopeless wait continues!on that note, though, happiness comes in packages of all sizes.
-big or bigger - maybe japan/korea in a fortnight
-small - finally adding Alpen to the cart, although it is exorbitantly priced around here, and learning to compromise by not getting soymilk to go along. oh well. breaking fast shouldn't be expensive, not when there isn't much of a fast, seeing how there just doesn't seem to be time to sleep.
-quite big - sister coming down soon!
-even bigger - conclusion of a struggle we'd grown so used to that i didn't even realise when it was over. it is! so i went shopping.
-medium - a quiet, quiet weekend, hopefully i'll get down to good work after this.

well-meaning preach, from whom other than the newly-minted Secretary-General?
"We cannot change everything at once. But if we choose wisely, and work together transparently, flexibly and honestly, progress in a few areas will lead to progress in a few more."
Patience and belief, in other words and not just for the UN, too. I like the last line in particular, good with to keep the end in sight if ever the going would get tougher.

weekend of ac/Tc
thankies to many who, of late, have been patient about my msn-bombarding ways. tqui and krong and emma and ~y~ - haha that's many, many pairs of ears on loan. i do miss you all so! thankie above all to you shoo. since i can't reply your email as nicely, and refuse to meaninglessly send out a letter telling you so, this will have to do.***
yipee! world on sale! time to spare! inertia to overcome! indecision to conquer!

mid-autumn came and went. we still have 3.5 traditional mooncakes left, single-yolked. good to last till next year i'm sure! i'm glad we chinese make them so hardy. they're big on the celebrations here, we spent a good part of frinight chasing a scrawny dragon with an armour of incense sticks, and whose tail couldn't help being dislodged.. twice. retail therapy for dragons! great balls of fire, scarlett would say!
cute little scurrying frothy waves that belie their Big Wave name. like my floormate mentioned, it's bizarre to be tanning past the middle of autumn. i almost started to claim, man we're practically living like singaporeans.. except you guys are wheezing, so shiny sundays probably aren't on the calendar for now. can't believe i'm breathing better here. heh please take good care.
