Working's not all bad, but I think so only because I'm not treading the mill. It'll be different if I had to plug away at the same spot for months and years on end - ohhhhhh the indignity - but that would be substance for many whines to come. Not now, thankfully : )

This weekend I collected a heavy medal, heavy definitely only because of sore arms though, hahah. Thankie Yenling, for being good and responsible and inspiring. You were handsome on that bike!

I'll miss Chorale dearly. The second thought in my head at dawn was I LOVE CHORALE flashing like a cabaret marquee. Puzzling to say the least. Never knew I'd feel this way one day; after all it was two years before I dared commit, emboldened only by the knowledge that I'm jetting off to Cantoland. We've come to make such a pleasant practice of weekends, bitchfits and discordance notwithstanding, that I am quite sorry the competition will be over so soon. But perhaps this morning's ruminations were sleep-addled thoughts borne of of exertion and great reads, no lappie, dreams and song.

I have more books than I know what to do with, there is no more room on my dresser! What a happy situation. I wish I could take my time with them, but I have only a fortnight and so I must make the best of this burst of enthusiasm. It seems I am often disconcerted, today is no exception, and presently the culprit comes in the form of Edith Wharton (what's new). It must be the combined effect of Ethan Frome and Summer, because I can't get my head on right, and now I keep suspecting incest in Mansfield Park.. ughhhaha, sorry.

Anyways this is a silly observation but I can't help liking unfashionable things, like dowdy tops and preachy literature. Perhaps it is their very timelessness that attracts me so. And timing and fruitlessness was my first thought this morning.

One last note. Tonight I collect my computer, the harddisks of which I am renaming Scrip & Scrap, to replace some withered flowers.

OK SCREW IT ALL I MUST STOP THINKING SO MUCH. PERHAPS SLEEPING LESS WILL BE A BETTER IDEA.
