We aren't moving, not just yet, but during the unexpectedly-freedup lunch break today, I decided to stop by Park Mall anyway. I have a soft spot for that place, we spent pleasant Sunday afternoons there. I could complain myself hoarse about my parents, but strangely, they always valued my opinion about furniture. Even when I was a shrimp. I got to choose the sofa (from elsewhere)! The mall is OK, it's lost a little of its lustre; in the decade that has passed quirky furniture's sprouted everywhere else, but I'll be back.. because - Poll: Glasses and whether evie should get more - of arrestingly blue middling metal frames from the most coked-up nation in the world? It's been a while since a pair's even caught my eye.
Singapore Shopping Centre. Halfway up the building, the escalators stop functioning. Today's little adventure was spying the Red Cross House through the clear doors of its neighbouring tower - whoa? Losing my way on the way back (roadsigns in SG drive me nuts, so which way IS Penang Lane??) rewoke the reflex action to duck into a mamashop. Suspension in aimlessness is by far my favouritest state of being, but wandering bound by time, without a watch, brings its own set of thrills. In any case, let the count begin.
Seven weeks! Whatever shall I do?

Unexpectedly freed-up evening, which I spent as a scaredy cat along the length of Joo Chiat, twice. There are 2 Hotel81s, if anyone's wondering, and a You Need It convenience mart... ho ho hum. Japanese place at Breezeway Centre (also home to Oishi! Pizza, hey) with v. friendly waitstaff and what is, after tonight, my favourite non-chocolate dessert, and the romance of my first time at a Japanese dining establishment alone!
A most satisfying day.
