Construction class was late to begin yesterday, and shawn spent all our time waiting reintroducing me to Both Sides Now, and introducing me properly to Joni Mitchell. I never knew she was this wonderful, and I'm reading her biography (available on her website) in bits. I'll be disappointed when I get to the last section since there'll be nothing else to read. Thank goodness she's still alive; I realise right at this moment that's why it says "1998 - ". At first I thought it was cos the biographer had left his work incomplete.

So, Both Sides Now. All the times it's been looped, then alternatively looped, between the older version and the loveactually one. I don't know what to make of those hollow days. I may have spent hours languishing in my room listening to this, or I may not. I don't know where those hours went, it's kinda hard to say. I think I was arrested and bound, and this was such a drug. Or balm.

In the time it's taken me to write these few paragraphs the song's repeated itself, and it's refreshing I don't feel the compulsion to rewind it. I've had sufficient. Well part of me does, but only because it's unparalleled in its beauty. Still, it's about time to finally check her other stuff out.
